The Adriatic Coast

The Adriatic coast is less than a 15-minute drive from Abruzzo Hills Villa. Nearby seaside towns such as Silvi, Montesilvano, Pescara, Francavilla al Mare and Pineto offer long sandy beaches, clean, warm and family-friendly waters, seafront promenades, coastal cycle paths and an excellent choice of seafood restaurants.
Further south, the historic town of Ortona combines a rich and dramatic history with panoramic views over the Adriatic.
Beyond Ortona begins the Costa dei Trabocchi, where the coastline becomes more dramatic and is dotted with traditional wooden fishing platforms known as trabocchi. Some of these historic structures have been transformed into unique seafood restaurants, offering an unforgettable multi-course dinner surrounded by the sea.
Timeless Towns, Vineyards and Olive Groves
In less than 15 minutes from Abruzzo Hills Villa, you can reach the exceptional hilltop towns of Atri, Silvi Paese and Città Sant’Angelo. Each offers layers of history reaching back thousands of years, dramatic settings and important historic landmarks.
Within an hour, you can also explore historic towns such as Chieti, Penne and Loreto Aprutino, along with many other characterful places hidden among the hills. The roads between them cross beautiful rolling landscapes covered in vineyards and olive groves, making the journey part of the experience.
Along the way, stop at a local cantina for a wine tasting or enjoy handmade pasta and traditional Abruzzese meat dishes in a countryside restaurant. The nearest winery and a restaurant serving authentic Abruzzese cuisine are both within walking distance of Abruzzo Hills Villa.

The Mountains- Gran Sasso and Majella

The view from Abruzzo Hills Villa towards Gran Sasso and Majella, two of the most impressive mountain ranges in the Apennines, is an invitation to adventure. Corno Grande, the highest peak in the Apennines at 2,912 metres, lies only around 40 kilometres from the villa as the crow flies.
Numerous panoramic routes wind through Gran Sasso and Majella, offering excellent roads, light traffic and unforgettable scenery. These routes are especially popular with motorcyclists and cyclists, but they are equally rewarding for anyone exploring the region by car.
Along the way, the constantly changing mountain landscapes are complemented by enchanting medieval hill towns and historic castles that are impossible to overlook.
These magnificent mountains are also a paradise for hikers, nature lovers and photographers, while in winter they attract skiers to Abruzzo’s mountain resorts.
